Brett Marsh is a multimedia journalist and photographer whose stories highlight environmental, climate, social and development issues. He was a 2022 Climate Reporting Fellow with the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, where he covered the socioeconomic impacts of the growing labor shortages in Colombia’s coffee industry.

Most recently, Brett joined the climate and environmental reporting publication Grist as their environmental justice fellow. He wrote stories ranging from the political stalemate around granting indigenous tribal nations their water rights in the midst of a historic drought in the Southwest, to the potential for solar energy and battery storage to help Puerto Rico keep the lights on during the next hurricanes.

Brett received his master’s degree from U.C. Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism in 2021. He is based out of the Bay Area.
